1. Trani Ammouda Beach




Starting off the list of the best beaches in Sithonia, Halkidiki is Trani Ammouda Beach. Found in the north eastern side of Sithonia, Trani Ammouda is a long sandy beach with clear waters that seems to go on for miles. You can set up your own umbrella and towels on the beach or take a sit at one of the sun beds found at Le Mantri Beach Bar. If you’re in the mood for exploring you can make your way up to the ancient ruins found at the end of the beach. There are also restaurants and hotels nearby.

2. Lagonisi Beach
Lagonisi Beach is one of those natural phenomenons that are rare to find. You get the feeling of walking on water as you make your way through the narrow sandy passageway towards the lone tree peninsula. Whether you decide to settle on the right or the left side of the passageway, you’ll be pleased to discover that both sides have crystal clear waters. On the one side you’ll find Lagonisi Beach Bar where a set of an umbrella with two sun beds costs 5€ while on the other side is not an organized beach. Further down that side you will also come across GEEA Beach.

Talgo is a small sandy beach found between Ormos Panagias and Vourvourou. Due to the shortage of beach bars in Sithonia, this one tends to get pretty crowded on weekends.

4. Karidi Beach






Karidi Beach is one of Halkidiki’s true jewels. Two neighboring beaches united by a short rocky hill between them, Karidi beach is an exotic paradise just an hour and a half away from Thessaloniki. This is not an organized beach, however, there are nearby cafes that you can buy coffee or a smoothie to go. A personal favorite is Anchor Foodbar, who makes amazing smoothies. To reach the second side of Karidi Beach you’ll need to reach the main road again and enter the beach from a different street. Otherwise, for the adventure seekers out there, you can always hike over the rocky hill to reach the other side – the choice is yours!

Following Karidi beach in Vourvourou and hidden amongst a cluster of villas, you’ll find Fava Beach, an unspoiled and open beach. From the main road you’ll turn right and drive about a kilometer through a tranquil and serenading neighborhood made up of private houses and villas. Upon arriving at the beach you’ll notice the wild nature, with large rock formations on either ends of the beach. Fava is especially popular among the locals due to its secluded location and clear waters.

6. Zografou Beach






Continuing along the eastern coast of Sithonia is Zografou Beach, an emerald blue beach featuring luxury camp caravans as well as a little dock for boats. Zografou Beach belongs to the campsite Porto Elea and therefore you must pay 3€ to enter the premises. Once you drive through the gated entrance you can either sit at the beach bar or wander further down the coast and settle with your umbrella on the sand. Many visitors avoid the entrance fee by parking on the dirt road leading down to the beach and then simply walking through the campsite.

The beach bar tends to get very crowded during the months of July and August so make sure to get their early to find an umbrella near the shore, or visit during the weekdays for a quieter scene.
