5. New York Café

Another cafe that you must visit in Budapest is the iconic New York Café. Decked in embroiled gold from top to bottom, New York Café is the utmost dignified scene in Budapest that even made it to our most Instagrammable places in Budapest list. Much more touristy than the rest of the cafes mentioned above, New York Café is still a must, if not for its premium pastries and coffee then for its remarkable interior design that has been carefully preserved over the years. A reservation is a must at New York Café as there tends to be a long waiting line at the door. After your coffee at New York Café you can make your way to the Jewish Quarter for some bar hopping. If you’re looking to explore a hipster neighborhood just a few blocks away from the Parliament and Margaret Island then a stop at Parisian is totally worth it. Picture dog owners enjoying their coffee with their four-legged friends, young creatives or entrepreneurs, and a laid back atmosphere all in one stop. Take a seat outside at one of the wooden tables or enjoy your coffee in the café’s cozy loft. 7. Zoo Café

Last but not least, Zoo Café makes it on our list of the top cafes in Budapest due its distinct nature. Part menagerie, part coffee shop, Zoo Café is home to over 65 exotic small animals ranging from rabbits, to lizards, to snakes that you get the special opportunity to interact with all while enjoying a cup of coffee. Make sure to reserve a table 1-2 days in advance because Zoo Café is very popular amongst tourists and locals with children. While you take your sit and order your coffee, the animal handlers will slowly bring out a fuzzy or reptile creature to your table every 10-15 minutes, giving you the chance to meet several small animals! You are only allowed to sit at the table for 90 minutes but that is more than enough time to enjoy your coffee and your newly made four-legged friends.
