1. The Caravan

Although Caravan is a Bed & Breakfast, their lobby area is ideal to work remotely from. Around the corner of the lobby there is even a designated quiet area with large tables for meetings, group projects, or freelancers to work. Indeed, if you are a study group, or a non-profit organization than this work space is even free of charge. In the near future, printers will also be installed to create a connivence for anyone that needs to print things out. The owners of the Caravan are the friendliest hotel owners I have ever met. The chill and laid-back environment they created coupled with the colorful furniture and decorations in the lobby create a nice atmosphere that you’ll enjoy for hours.

2. Café Palermo

This is a hidden gem right in the heart of Thessaloniki. You will probably pass it almost every day if you live in Thessaloniki and never notice it. It is tucked away in a little stoa off of Aristotelous Square. Café Palermo is a timeless and charming little spot that truly transports you to another era with its decorative antiques, old cameras, clocks and other belongs from the 50’s and 60’s placed around the café. Take your lap top and sit in one of their comfortable leather booths and enjoy their jazz music while getting some work done. Café Palermo is also probably the only place I’ve visited in Thessaloniki that has a smoking and non-smoking section – something I really appreciate.

3. Mob

When I first decided to take my laptop and find cafes to work at in Thessaloniki, Mob was always my go-to spot. Till this day I still believe they make the best coffee in town. The big windows and luminous rooms are perfect for long hours over your laptop or books. If working at tables is not your thing, you’ll love their big comfy couch. Their chill music and friendly atmosphere will surely help you get in the mood to work. You can read more about Mob here.

4. Tabya

Tabya is a homelike café situated in a beautiful renovated house near Kamara. Due to its design, the space is split into small various rooms that used to be rooms of a house. Each room has its own simplistic yet homey décor. This is also ideal if you want a quite little corner to work from without having to hear the chitter chatter of other groups. Can’t find a space upstairs to sit? Head over downstairs and you’ll be delighted to find more tables to sit and work from. If you want to take a break from working be sure to check out their gallery on the second floor.

5. TOMS

TOMS has been a favorite destination of mine from when it first opened its doors a couple of years ago. Take your lap top or books and head over to the downstairs level of the café and find a cozy spot to work. Whether it’s by the fireplace or by their long wooden tables there is room for everyone. Their self-service bar calls for opportunity to stretch after working for a long time at your table. Overall, their warm and cozy atmosphere is a perfect substitute from a day in the office.
